We’re thrilled to share that Flamingos Coffee House has been awarded Diverse Company of the Year at the inaugural Yorkshire Pride in Diversity Awards — and we couldn’t be prouder.
This recognition means so much more than a trophy or a title. It’s a reflection of everything we’ve worked to build since the very beginning: a warm, welcoming space where everyone feels safe, seen, and celebrated. From our inclusive hiring practices and LGBTQ+ visibility to the sense of belonging we try to serve with every flat white, diversity isn’t an add-on at Flamingos — it’s baked into our very identity.

When we opened Flamingos, we weren’t just opening a coffee shop. We were creating a community hub — a place where people could gather, connect, feel welcome, and be unapologetically themselves. That has remained our mission every single day, and it’s why this award feels so deeply personal to us and our team.
To receive this honour at the very first Yorkshire Pride in Diversity Awards makes it even more special. It signals a growing movement to recognise and celebrate inclusivity across the region — and we’re incredibly proud to be part of that journey.
